Press On Toward The Goal
This is the last day of the year 2016. There won’t be another Saturday, December 31, 2016 ever again. Let that sink in for a bit…
As I scrolled through all of my photos I took within this past year, I couldn’t help but reminisce on all the good times I had with the teachers and children within children’s Sunday school at my church,
With my experience at the Civil Rights museum,
And more eventful experiences I had throughout the year. This year has been a bit “low key” for me because I did not travel much and didn’t go through many trials. But now that the year 2016 is coming to an end, I again have the opportunity to revisit the goal:
My goal this year and every year is to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. As Paul said, “I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do. Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead” (Philippians 3:13). I look forward to the challenges and trials that will come my way because I know that God will be with me every step of the way. I look forward to living out the Word and becoming a better disciple as a result. I look forward to serving God and glorifying his name with everything I do and with everything I say.
With this expectancy I say, Welcome 2017 and Happy New Year!
