Saying Our Goodbyes

The images below capture few of many moments of a memorial service held at our school to celebrate the life of Cindy, our school’s Title 1 coordinator and Reading coach, who died at the hands of breast cancer.

Balloons filled with messages from the little ones were released as a form of grievance for the students at our elementary school.

Hundreds of our students released their balloons filled with messages to Cindy. This was a way for our students to grieve.

Ballons will soon disappear

As we watched our balloons float higher and higher, I couldn’t help but become teary-eyed at the sight of the kids’ amazement while watching their messages to Cindy go up into the sky…
